What do the three categories mean in Genie?

Updated on Aug 13, 2024

There are three categories under Genie:

Easy to get in: This is the best choice for you, and there’s a high chance for this to progress into a formal letter of acceptance once you apply.

Give it a try: This may not be the best choice for you, but there’s still a likelihood that you will get accepted.

Tough to get in: Your chances aren’t great in this case, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying. Talk to your dedicated counsellor for personalised tips to improve your chances or find courses that suit you better.

Please note: While these categories are based on past data and entry criteria, the final decision is up to the university’s discretion. Applying for a course under the ‘Easy to get in’ category does not imply that the university will roll out an offer letter.
