About the University

With a decorated history dating back to 1885, Arizona State University was first established as the Territorial Normal School. It has been providing quality education to all its students under a series of names, such as the Arizona State Teachers College and the Arizona State College. In 1958, it was renamed as Arizona State University. The institution is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

The university is located across 4 campuses in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, with a number of further satellite colleges throughout the US. Recognised as a leading research college, ASU is in the top 10 nationwide for patents issued to universities.

With an 86% acceptance rate, Arizona State University boasts a high student population of over 65,000. It is ranked #146 in global university ranking (US News and World report 2021)

Campus Life

Arizona State University is located across four distinct campuses, each in the metropolitan area of Phoenix, Arizona’s vibrant and historical capital city. The Downtown Phoenix campus, the Tempe campus, West campus, and the Polytechnic campus are each designated for different aspects of the university’s academic, research and vocational pursuits. 

The university provides an array of on-campus accommodation options to both its undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Athletics are a source of pride at ASU, with the “Sun Devils” represented in 26 high profile varsity programs. Thus, there is a range of world class sports facilities for students interested in physical activities such as the Sun Devil Stadium, the Mona Plummer Aquatic Centre, the Wells Fargo Arena, and Papago Golf Course. The university's alumni association, ASU, helps students develop a strong network and learn from their seniors.
