MSc Mechanical Engineering
Course outline and modules
Mechanical engineers are innovators at the cutting edge of technology, designing machines, structures and devices for every application and in every shape and size.
Our Mechanical Engineering masters course gives you the academic knowledge and training you need to become a Chartered Engineer as well as the opportunity to develop your team working and communication skills.
The course is regularly reviewed to ensure it remains up-to-date with current industrial practices and, in addition to the core modules, enables you to develop a specialism in either computational modelling, sustainable engineering or engineering design.
What you’ll learn
Through the course you will develop a comprehensive understanding of scientific principles, learn how to test and critically evaluate concepts and use engineering analysis and computational methods to assess the likely success of their application.
You’ll also gain an understanding about business strategy and operations, developing your project management skills and learning how to manage risks and work effectively as part of a team.
CDIO - Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate: This is the innovative and hands-on teaching framework on which our curriculum is based, empowering you with the ability to apply your skills to real-world situations and take your learning to the next level.
Accreditation
The MSc Mechanical Engineering is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and meets the educational requirements of Chartered Engineer (CEng).
