Student Life

Colorado Mesa University is a public higher education establishment located in Grand Junction. The institution has degree programs for undergraduate, master's, associate and certificate levels. In addition, Colorado Mesa offers qualifications in academic and technical work-related fields.

Currently, around 11,000 students attend the university. Many enrol on full-time courses, while others use the establishment's online or part-time courses to balance work and family life. Since its opening in 1925, Colorado Mesa has served the local community by offering further education opportunities. But today, it has expanded and around 14% of the student intake comes from outside of Colorado.

For instance, the site has a performing arts centre, a Business and Education building and a sports centre. Many student-led organisations, such as the Criterion campus newspaper and KMSA 91.3FM radio station, are in the University Centre.

Campuses

Colorado

Colorado Mesa University is near the Colorado mountains and canyons. As a result, Grand Junction has some of the best recreational and outdoor activities in the US. Hiking, climbing, biking and mountaineering are all available.

But students can also find slower-paced activities nearby. In Grand Junction, there are various cultural and art centres. Art on the Corner, the Museum of Western Colorado, and the Colorado Mountain Wine Festival are just some sites and activities to explore.

For a larger city experience, students can travel to Denver - a four-hour drive from campus. Alternatively, Salt Lake City is slightly further, located four and a half hours to the north.
