Colorado State University was founded in 1870 as the Colorado Agricultural College before becoming the State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. 1957 the Colorado General Assembly approved the change to its current name and it became a university. Today it has around 35,000 students a year including 2,500 international students from 110 countries around the world.
A range of appealing accommodation options is presented to international students enroling in degree programs at Colorado State University. There are twelve residence halls to choose from based on your preferences, divided into three areas. Parmelee Hall, Corbett Hall and Academic Village all offer fully furnished rooms, laundry/study facilities, and shared lounges. Corbett Hall and Parmelee Hall are conveniently located close to laboratories and classrooms, with shared bathrooms and common areas. The Academic Village was created to cater to students with an academically focused approach as the rooms are sorted into suites, with a kitchenette and common place as part of the living arrangement.
If students prefer to live independently, university apartments with a choice between one and three-bedroom units are offered, or they can use the university resources for off-campus rental listings in the surrounding areas. More minor details, such as roommate matching and contract reviews, are additional services offered by the dedicated staff at CSU.
Students can meet like-minded individuals across various sports, social and academic student clubs run by their peers. If students want to get involved with the student union, they can ensure their voice gets heard by becoming a representative, helping them develop valuable skills. There is a strong security presence on campus, so students feel safe, and both genders participate in varsity sports ranging from basketball to softball. Other events are held across campus to ensure all students enjoy various activities, from the rocky mountain showdown to seminars from well-known experts in their field.

The university helps graduates with funding via various scholarships. The Global Diversity scholarship is awarded to incoming international students who show a record of academic achievement, leadership potential and the promotion of diversity. INTO CSU is a program designed to empower international students in their transition to academic life at the university: the Graduate Pathway scholarship, Pathway scholarship and Academic English scholarship.
Students can improve their English language skills before the degree program begins. Merit-based scholarships are provided to incoming international students based on leadership potential, academic achievement and extracurricular activities, and there are several to choose from. Students are recommended to check their eligibility against the available scholarships before the commencement of their course. The university also offers college-specific scholarships.
