Across its various campuses, the Southern Institute of Technology has equipment and resources for studying and leisure. First, the provider’s library has over 25,000 books and 750,000 E-books and provides various group study spaces. Also, the institute has specialist training equipment for certain courses, such as commercial training kitchens. 

For leisure activities, the Southern Institute has gym and fitness classes available. The SIT gym was also recently refurbished with state-of-the-art equipment and workout spaces. Students can also use the Bungalow Restaurant, which has a cafe and bar or the Vault Cafe.

City life

Different cultures exist across SIT’s Invercargill, Christchurch, Queenstown, Gore and Auckland campuses. Southerners are also known for being friendly and welcoming and students get many opportunities to meet local people and experience New Zealand culture.

At the Invercargill and Queenstown campuses, students are near Fiordland National Park, which was New Zealand's first UNESCO world heritage area. It is also the sixth largest national park in the world and is just a few hours’ drive away. When living in New Zealand.
