It originally opened in 1898 as the West Ham Technical Institute, gaining university status and its current name in 1992. It has around 25,000 students a year including international students from 135 different countries.
The university has been ranked in the world’s top young 200 universities. It’s also been ranked highly in the UK for its psychology research, architecture and civil engineering and top for international support and visa advice. It’s also one of the only London-based universities to offer on-campus accommodation.
