Course Overview

The Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP) is a four-year, tuition-sponsored program that prepares individuals of Métis ancestry for a successful career in teaching. Delivered by the Gabriel Dumont Institute in partnership with the University of Regina, it combines accredited academic instruction with unique cultural and professional support. The program's core mission is to increase Métis representation in education and graduate teachers who are exceptionally responsive to the needs of all students, particularly Indigenous learners.
