Course Overview
Employability skills are embedded into the curriculum, alongside opportunities to work on live briefs set by industry experts Textile Design at DMU gives you the practical, digital and professional skills you need to become a designer in the contemporary global textile market. The course is a deep exploration of the fabric in the world around us - from wallpaper and soft furnishings to transport upholstery and luxury fashion and is designed to equip you with a multifaceted eye for design techniques. You can specialise in one of three areas – mixed media, print or weave – and will explore the key applications of fashion, interior and lifestyle.

- Our expert teaching team will encourage you to take dynamic approaches to textile design that will influence the future of the industry – helping you to graduate as a forward-thinking, responsible designer
- This course has a scholarship available for 2025 entry
- The Worshipful Company of Dyers Scholarship offers a contribution of £5,000 per year, to support students from low-income backgrounds
- To be eligible, students must have a household income of £50,000 or less
